DETECTION OF SENTINEL LYMPH NODE IN THYROID CANCER

Drs. Oscar Vidal and Sergi Vidal-Sicart successfully perform the first case of radioguided surgery in combination with fluorescence to identify the sentinel lymph node in differentiated thyroid carcinoma. These types of techniques are widely validated in treatment protocols for breast cancer or melanoma, but are still in a very early and controversial phase in pathologies such as thyroid cancer where they could be of great help in the face of better risk stratification of the illness.
