REFRESHER COURSE IN ENDOCRINE SURGERY: TRANSAXILAR ENDOSCOPIC THYROIDECTOMY. TENERIFE 2019

Dr. Oscar Vidal, a surgeon at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona was invited as a leading surgeon to this first edition of the Endocrine Surgery refresher course, which was held in Tenerife. The course took place at the University Hospital of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, in the Department of General and Digestive Surgery (Dr. Barrera / Dr. J Jordan). During his stay, Dr. Vidal successfully performed operations on three patients with thyroid nodules, using the Transaxilar Endoscopic approach, by means of which the diseased thyroid gland is removed without leaving visible scars on the patient's neck. These are the first cases that are operated on with this technique in the Canary Islands.
